General Settings
The following article covers the relevant options in the General settings area and an overview of what they are used for.
Style Kits
We offer 2 style kits, Regular, and French Luxe. Style kits give you a great way to change the look of your site with the simple click of a button. When you select an alternative style kit, fonts, spacing, sizing options are all set based on that style kit. Of course individual options can be changed with the main theme settings. This just gives you a great way to quickly change your sites look.
With French luxe, there is also an option available to set the border width and color for the card list view options:
As shown below:
Backgrounds
The backgrounds section allows you the opportunity to add background colors to several elements on your site, including the site background. For the site background you can use an image, and have several options with its positioning. If you wish to use an image, simply click the upload option and add the background:
If the image is large, you may want to use the cover option, and have no repeat for the background. If its a small texture, you can repeat the background, and again use the cover option. Using cover will allow the image to cover the full area of the site. If using the contain option, it will be set to the fixed width of the screen, again this is more useful for large images.
The other options have the gold ? icon, that will show exactly where they are using, including the footer background color.
Colors
The colors section allows you to set global colors on the site, including menu hover, link colors including link hover colors. There are additional typography color options, in Flothemes > Advanced Typography.
Titles and Links
The titles and links section allows you to edit the custom taxonomy for various post types and page, including the blog page, search page titles.
Blog Page Title – this is only relevant if setting up the blog page using Settings > Reading which is not the preferred option.
Search Title – the label for any search results pages:
Open Label – this is the option for the “open” label option for galleries and posts:
Gallery Link URL – this is the custom taxonomy for your gallery posts. When a user goes to a single gallery post, it will have the following structure /gallery/name-of-gallery
Gallery Categories URL – Again this is similar, but will be in the structure /gallery-category name
Gallery Tags URL – Again this is similar to gallery categories, but will be in the structure /gallery-tag name
Its not recommended to change these unless you require custom permalinks for the post type.
Spacing and Width
The spacing and width section allows you to set the width of your content for your site, distances between images in blog posts, and the bottom margin for the titles and meta titles in posts, galleries and pages. To see the items, you can click the gold ? icon for further hints:

In the following section you can add any tracking codes for your site, including Google analytics.
Just copy and paste any of your codes into this section and it will be added to your site.

Its a great tool for allowing you to quickly edit, pages and posts. Only admin users can see the tool bar.
Import / Export
The import and export area allows 3 things.
- Importing Demo content – NOTE! Only do this if you are starting a new site.
- Import – import of a Flothemes export file. This will apply all Flothemes settings from another site, or an old version of your site. Great for using as a simple settings backup.
- Export – exporting of your Flothemes settings, to be used as a backup. This is not a database back up, just a settings backup. Its also great if creating multiple sites that are using the same theme and settings.
