Gallery posts
The following article explains how to set up a new gallery with Crowd and explains the fields that can be edited.
Step 1 – Add new gallery
To add a new gallery, go to Galleries in the backend of WordPress and then select add new:
Each gallery post has several fields to edit. Each field is described below.
Step 2 – Add Title and Written Content
these fields have the same role as on default blog posts.
Step 3 – Attach Images
This is where you’ll attach all your images for the gallery. It allows to add to, sort and delete images from your gallery. Simply click the add gallery images section on the left, and start adding.
Step 4 – Add Categories and Tags
You can use categories and tags to define sections of your site and group related galleries. You can use existing categories if you’ve made some, otherwise you can add new if required.
Step 5 – Add Featured Image
a featured image is usually used on archive pages to represent a gallery post.
Step 6 – Choose Gallery slider type
You can choose from available slider types. By default is used the slider set under the Sliders options, but value selected on the single gallery post will have the priority.
Global Gallery Settings
There are also settings that will affect all the gallery posts. These settings can be found in several places.
Under ‘Flothemes > Sliders‘ option you will find the settings related to the Slider Type used to display the images attached to the gallery:
You can check below how the 3 gallery types look like, and the characteristics for each one of them:
The first slider type will arrange the images one after another and uses the full screen width. It is good for listing images that have different aspect ratio.
The second slider type will display one image at a time and will use the page width only.
The first slide is a bit specific, it will use half of the slide to display the gallery title and gallery content.
The third gallery layout is not a slide it is a grid, it allows to select the number of columns and the spacing between the images. You can check the following links to see a few galleries using this layout:
