Content Settings
Content Settings is probably one of the most important areas to look into if you really want to give your website a unique touch, and customize it according to your needs.
The Content Settings area is broken down into several different sections. Each section is related to a specific area of your website. Within these sections, you can adjust layouts, fonts and much more.
Listing Layouts
The following sections is responsible for your Blog, Gallery and Video Listing layouts.
Here you can adjust:
Max Content width (in px) – Used for single Blog posts and List View. Please note that content width is limited to 60% of the browsers window width.
Page Title Position – LEFT/RIGHT – Works only for Default page Templates
Button Colors:
Blog Listing Layouts – applicable only if your Blog is set up through Settings Reading (not recommended)
Archive Listing Layouts
Show Full Post Content for List View – for those who want to have expanded / open Blog posts on their Blog page.
Excerpt text length for List view
Slideshow
In this area, there are 3 main sections to adjust:
Enable/Disable autoplay for slideshows
Slideshow Title Typography
Slideshow Subtitle Typography
Blog Posts
In this area you will find all the settings related to your Blog Posts:
Single post title position – LEFT/RIGHT
Show similar posts on single blog post page – YES/NO
Similar posts criteria – CATEGORIES/TAGS
Card List Settings:
– Card List Text and Post Preview Background Colors
– Apply different colors to even Card List post previews
– Card List border color
– Card List border size (in px)
Distance between post images (in px)
Images border color & size
Show categories on blog/blogpost pages
etc.
Comments Options – Most of the options in the image above are easy to understand. I want to explain just the comments option. As you can see by default WordPress comments are enabled. Basically any comments option available in the ‘enabled’ box will be used in the order defined there. See below a few combinations:
Gallery Settings
Options here include:
– Spacing (gutter) between the masonry images
– Number of columns
– Social sharing options
– Label and link for the back to galleries button
– etc.
You can also select the global single gallery layout. (This is overwritten by settings inside a single gallery post)
Pages
The following sections consists our of 3 main settings options:
Page title position – Works only for Default page template
Enable Comments for pages
Content 404 – Set content 404!
Sidebars
The sidebars section allows you to add extra sidebars that can be used in the widgets area. View the full set of available widget areas here.
Image Sizing
Here you’re able to adjust the Slideshow, Featured images and general sizes of images on your site. Click the gold ? to the right to see exactly whats changing:
